BCA Float 32 2.0 avalanche airbag the BCA Float

The BCA Float 32 is the larger pack available the other being the Float 22, we found that the 32 really did not feel like the size it is due to the slim design and pretty good ergonomic shape.

The BCA Float 32 is designed for both lift severed off piste riding, it has a super low profile fit and is probably more suited to touring and pro use when you need to carry more gear..

The available pack size is good for 2 to 3 day use, there is enough space for shovel probe, drink first aid kit, a extra layer or two, skins emergency equipment and a extra jacket

General BCA Float information:

The Float 32™’s 150-liter airbag not only creates buoyancy and decreases your burial depth but also protects your head and neck from trauma in an avalanche. BCA’s next generation Float 2.0 cylinder is nearly 30% smaller and 15% lighter than our Float 1.0 engine.  All the Float 2.0 system elements sit entirely separate behind a zippered covering, freeing up valuable space in the main compartment for gear, first-aid kit, and supplies.

BCA’s 200 authorized refill locations around the world make it the easiest refillable airbag system on the market. Float 2.0 air cylinder must be purchased separately.

Refilling of the BCA cylinders can be done by returning to us, there is also the facility to refill via a SCUBA to paint ball adapter system.

Flying with the BCA Float

Flying with your BCA Float avalanche airbags is the same as Snowpulse and ABS systems, you will need to pre book your airbag at least 2 weeks prior to flying and then take with you two copies of the IATA regulations (see download handbook below for copy), keep one copy with your documents and the other copy place on the BCA Float airbag.

Be prepared for a slightly longer check in process as almost always you will be called to out size luggage check to qualify your airbag. Please call us if you need more information we have had many customer fly all over the world with their airbags, with little or no problems as long as you follow the guide lines.

One thing we would add is that the IATA guide lines say that you can get your airbag on board as hand luggage, please don’t try this its not worth the hassle you will get at the airport.
