BCA Tracker 3 Test and Review

BCA Tracker 3 avalanche transceiver test and review, we used the new Tracker 3 for a full season and to sum up, yep the size and features really do make this a good choice for the more experienced user.

Size wise the added benefits of the slim profile and comfy carry case really did make this a joy to wear, those of you who have fallen on your transceiver will know what I am talking about! The buttons and display again are super easy to use even with ski gloves on, battery life looks about correct, however I thought it did not last as well as some of the others out there, but in saying that I was doing quite a few training searches as well as just transmit. As with any transceiver we reckon don't let the battery get below 50% as this does mess up the search function somewhat.

In terms of searching with the Tracker 3 then its pretty easy, the only draw back is the dual read out when searching for multiple burials, if you have used a transceiver before then this will not be an issue, so we would say the Tracker three is better suited for the more advanced user rather than a beginner, if its your first transceiver then look at the Ortovox Zoom or the Ortovox 3 Plus.

Price wise its a little higher than some out there but the build quality and backup are well worth it.

I will be using mine again all next winter!
