The BCA Tracker DTS is one of the easiest and best–selling avalanche transceivers on the market, because of its rapid processor and simple user interface. A real–time, digital display shows both direction and distance with bright red LEDs (light emitting diodes).
The distance is shown in meters and indicator lights display the direction of transmitting beacons. As one of the worlds most widely used transceiver, the Tracker has established a strong reputation for durability and reliability.
Comes with a carrying case and harness.
Who should be using?
Firstly we are sure here at SnowShepherd that transceivers really are an essential piece of kit for all skiers and snowboarders who are venturing even a few meters from the piste. With modern skis and boards, dare we say it but it’s too easy to go off piste!!
The temptation of all that lovely soft stuff! If you have ever thought “maybe I should have a transceiver” then there is no excuse GET ONE.
The common saying “there is no such thing as a little off piste” is, in our experience very true, having seen and narrowly missed numerous slides over the last few years just meters from the piste.
The BCA Tracker is very easy to use and has a really good fast processor especially in the first stages of the search, it is a little slower in the fine, final search pattern than its digital Ortovox rivals as recently shown in the Canadian Ski Patrol Transceiver Test . The Tracker though is well proven and reliable and a good first avalanche transceiver choice.
